Gay Grover Eiker KochisJanuary 29th, 1937-April 29th, 2019Gay died peacefully in her sleep in Cathedral City, California on April 29th, 2019. She was 82.She will be laid to rest in Princeton Cemetery on Tuesday, June 18th at 11:00 a.m.. in the GROVER family plot.Gay was born in Princeton and attended Princeton High School. She was the daughter of Francis L. and Nellie Tuckett Grover of Penns Neck, New Jersey. She is survived by her sister Sally Grover Gutierrez of Redondo Beach, California and her 6 children, 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.Her surviving children are Karl Eiker (Rhonda) of Cerrillos, NM; Fred Eiker, III (Patricia) of Santa Fe, NM; Barry Eiker (Theresa) of Robbinsville, NJ; Robert Kochis (Debbie) of Burlington, NJ; Brian Eiker (Nicole) of Bordentown, NJ; and Deena Thorne (Jerry) of East Windsor, NJ.Her surviving grandchildren are Michael Eiker of Oregon, Kaylee Eiker Beaver of Wyoming, Jason Eiker-Wiles (Karen) of Mexico City, Sara Eiker (Ahmed Maza) of Granada Spain, Sean Eiker of Santa Fe, NM, Kelly Eiker of Jobstown, NJ, Jenna Eiker Kerstetter (Brian) of Newcumberland, Pa., Christopher Kochis and fiancé Brittany Jurkowitsch of Woodbury, NJ, Kimberly Kochis of Maple Shade, NJ, Deanndra Baker and Shawn Brown of Maple Shade, NJ, Brian Thorne of Cranbury and Shannon Thorne of East Windsor, NJ.Her surviving great grand children are: Zakaria Maza Eiker and Ibtisam Maza Eiker of Granada, Spain and Vandergriff Brown of Maple Shade, NJ.Gay was married to Fred Eiker II of Cranbury and then Connor Kochis of Princeton. She is predeceased by her sister Noel Grover Haig and her parents.Gay was known for spending summers at the shore and raising 6 wonderful children. She loved her home and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She went to school with several of the West Windsor police officers and every Christmas she would bake them a cherry cheesecake.Her whiskey cake, pumpkin bread and pierogies were also favorites and she had passed the recipes down to her children and grandchildren.She will be missed.
