Edison readies for 2005 St. Paddy’s celebration

  • The Edison Recreation Department, together with Mayor George A. Spadoro and the Edison Council, is sponsoring the town’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Irish Flag Raising Ceremony, March 17. Festivities will begin at 1 p.m. at Yelencsics Park, located behind the Edison Senior Citizen Center, 2963 Woodbridge Ave. Highlighting the flag-raising ceremony will be the Union County Police & Fire Pipes and Drums, the Kelly Dance Studio Irish Steppers and Irish vocalist Jill Romma.   • Edison H.S. slates prom fashion show, bus trip

    Edison High School Project Graduation will hold its annual Senior Prom Fashion Show March 18 in the high school auditorium, 50 Boulevard of Eagles. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Show starts at 8 p.m. Advance tickets are $3 for students and $7 for adults; tickets at the door are $5 for students and $10 for adults. Call Barbara at (732) 287-1446.

    Project Graduation is also sponsoring a bus trip to Trump Plaza in Atlantic City on April 17. Bus leaves the high school promptly at 8:30 a.m. and departs from Atlantic City at 4:30 p.m. Cost is $35, which includes bagels and coffee on the bus, $15 in coins and a $5 lunch voucher.
