Theater company to offer many children’s shows

Forum Theatre Co., Metuchen, has announced its 2004-05 schedule of productions for A Kid’s Forum, the company’s theater program for young and family audiences.

• Through Feb. 26 — “The Ugly Duckling.”

• March 19-April 16 — “Pinocchio,” the classic tale of the wooden puppet who yearns to become a real boy.

• April 23 — “Great Scott! It’s Magic!” at 11 a.m. Assisted by animals, Scott Drukker performs magic and illusions.

• May 7-June 11 — “Treasure Island,” based on the book by Robert Louis Stevenson about a young boy’s adventure after he stumbles upon a map to find buried treasure. The production will feature performers using sign language and the spoken word.

A Kid’s Forum productions, which feature live music, are performed by professional actors. All musicals are recommended for children ages 2 and older. After each performance, cast members greet the children and are also available to sign autographs and pose for pictures. All seats must be reserved. Local church to host annual turkey dinner

The Wesley United Methodist Church, 5053 Woodbridge Ave., Edison, is holding its second annual turkey dinner from 5-9 p.m. Feb. 26. Entertainment will be provided by DJs Dingo and Nes. Local high school to ‘Let Freedom Ring’ Feb. 25

Bishop Ahr High School, 1 Tingley Lane, Edison, is hosting its 26th annual card party at 8 p.m. Feb. 25. This year’s theme is “Let Freedom Ring.” There will be raffles and refreshments.
