MONTGOMERY — A Montgomery Township woman escaped injury when a car crashed through the building and into a first-floor bedroom in her home on McKinley Court last week, according to the Montgomery Township Police Department.
Lilian Idrovo, 59, of Princeton was attempting to park her car shortly after 6 p.m. March 4 when she put her foot on the accelerator pedal instead of the brake pedal, police said. The car jumped the curb and struck the side of the building.
When police arrived, they found the front end of Ms. Idrovo’s 2009 Toyota lodged in the first-floor bedroom window of the McKinley Court residence. The 66-year-old resident was in the bedroom, but was not injured.
Ms. Idrovo was taken to the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro by Montgomery Emergency Medical Services for evaluation. She was given a summons for careless driving.
Montgomery Township Fire Co. No. 2 and the township’s Construction and Fire Marshal’s Office assisted at the scene, police said.
