HILLSBOROUGH: Residents at college earn academic honors

Two Hillsborough residents have been named to the fall dean’s list at University of the Sciences, located in Philadelphia. Selection is based on completing and passing all assigned courses with no grade below a C and attaining an academic average of at least 3.4.
The two are Lindsay Scala, a physician assistant studies student, and Priyanka Kelshikar, a doctor of pharmacy student.

Hillsborough resident Pierce Shein has earned an honors place on the dean’s list for the fall semester at the University of Delaware, located in Newark, where he received a 4.0 GPA. Pierce is in the College of Health Sciences, Class of 2019, and is studying exercise science.

Rachel Shein of Hillsborough has been named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at West Chester University in Pennsylvania with a 3.7 GPA. Rachel is a member of the Kappa Delta Pi education honor society.

Haley Shein, a graduate student at Monmouth University, received a 4.0 for the fall semester. Haley has a bachelor’s degree in education from Monmouth University. She is currently getting her master’s degree in special education. She is a graduate assistant and works in the Education Department at the university, as well as a member of the Kappa Delta Pi education honor society and president of the club softball team.

Three Hillsborough residents — Matthew Ackerman, Carli Jones and Ashley Scrivanich — were named to the dean’s list for academic achievement for the fall semester at Lafayette College in Easton, Pa. Each student achieved at least a 3.60 semester grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.
Ackerman is a graduate of Immaculata High School.

Edward Trimpert of Hillsborough has been named to the dean’s honor list for the fall semester at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, located in Troy, N.Y. The list recognizes full-time students with grade-point averages of at least 3.50 out of a possible 4.0 and have no grades below C. Edward studies mechanical engineering.
