WEST WINDSOR — A person was killed shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday night after being struck by a NJ Transit train that was on its way from New York City to Trenton, according to Amtrak spokesman Craig Schulz.
The victim, who has not been identified, was struck on the railroad tracks east of the Princeton Junction train station, Mr. Schulz said. None of the 500 passengers or crew members on the train were injured.
The train tracks on the Northeast Corridor were closed during the investigation, Mr. Schulz said. The tracks were reopened and train traffic resumed.
The investigation is being handled by Amtrak police, in conjunction with NJ Transit police.
