PRINCETON: Residents distressed to learn of the closing of Jordan’s store

Princeton residents
We, the undersigned Princeton residents, are disappointed, even distressed, that the town may lose, unnecessarily we think, one of its longtime businesses, Jordan’s Stationery and Gifts at the Princeton Shopping Center. Jordan’s has long provided (for nearly 35 years) a unique and varied service to the town that may not be replaced.
Owner Lewis Wildman said to The Packet that he did not want to lose his business, but he found that Edens, a national owner of shopping centers, was not responsive to his requests to renew his lease or work something out.
We, therefore, urge Edens to reconsider and renew Jordan’s lease. The services Jordan’s has long provided to the town’s residents are valuable, and that value should be weighed by Edens along with its goal of turning a profit at the shopping center.
