Six local artists will display their works at The Hickory Corner Branch of the Mercer County Library System from May 4 through June 26 during normal library hours.
“This is one of the most diverse shows we’ve had since we began art displays at the library about three years ago,” said Sharon Galbraith Ryer, library branch manager.
All of the artists are from the Art Station Studios in Hightstown. Totaling about 35 pieces in four areas of the library, the display will include acrylics, watercolors and photography.
Painter Joy Sacalis is influenced by travel to Ecuador and India. She states that she is “influenced by her interests in world cultures and sacred practices, her love of Byzantine and Sanskrit chanting.” Her painting titled “Cinque Terre” is named for the steep Italian Riviera coastline.
Kathleen Hurley Liao painted the picture “Spring Fever” in acrylic and mixed media. She says, “My paintings express sensations of energy, movement and rhythm.”
