Area roads were shut down around Pembroke Terrace, off Woods Road, this morning when an excavator at a residence on private property struck and ruptured a natural gas line.
Hillsborough police said an employee of Mt. Plumbing LLC was digging to fix a water line at the time of the accident, which was 10:35 a.m. PSEG responded and shut off the gas to the line, police said.
In addition to police, responding were the Hillsborough Rescue Squad, the township Office of Emergency Management and township fire companies from Route 206, Woods Road and Flagtown firehouses.
