Nassau Street between Murray Place and Olden Street will be closed to traffic from 9:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. tonight, Aug. 29, Princeton police announced Monday.
PSE&G received approval from the state Department of Transportation to close the street in order to install a new gas service line for a new business on Nassau Street, PSE&G said on Monday.
“We expect to be finished with this work in three days, conditions permitting,” PSE&G media relations staff member Lindsey Puliti wrote in an email. “There will be police on site and alternating traffic while the work is occurring.”
During the closure, PSE&G told the Police Department that large trucks will be staged on Nassau Street and accommodated through the work zone. Cars will use Olden Street to Prospect Avenue to Murray Place as the detour.
At 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 30, PSE&G plans to begin paving its trench and alternating traffic will be maintained on Nassau Street between Olden Street and Murray Place, police said Monday.
