Princeton has made the Witherspoon Hall municipal building a cooling center for the public today and through the expected hot weekend.
Starting today, residents can use the building until 5 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, the town said. To access the building on the weekend, residents have to go through the Police Department entrance on Valley Road, health officer Jeffrey Grosser said.
The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning for the region until Sunday at 9 p.m., with heat index values for today and Saturday in excess of 100 degrees.
