WEST WINDSOR: Two injured in three-vehicle accident that closed Old Trenton Road

WEST WINDSOR — A three-car accident sent two of the three drivers to Capital Health Regional Medical Center for treatment and closed Old Trenton Road for nearly two hours, following the accident which occurred shortly after 3 p.m. Oct. 27, according to the West Windsor Township Police Department.
The accident occurred when a 2015 Ford Focus, driven by James Maldonado, 21, of East Windsor Township, struck the rear of a 2016 Subaru Outback driven by John O’Brien, 69, of Monroe Township on Old Trenton Road, near Robbinsville Road, police said. Both cars were traveling north.
After Mr. Maldonado’s Ford Focus struck the Subaru Outback, the Ford Focus continued into the path of a southbound 2012 Acura TL driven by a 65-year-old West Windsor Township resident, police said. Mr. Maldonado and the West Windsor Township resident were taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Mr. O’Brien was not injured.
The accident closed Old Trenton Road for about 90 minutes, between Robbinsville Road and Mercer County Park, while police investigated the incident. It is still under investigation by the Police Department’s traffic unit. 
