MONTGOMERY POLICE BLOTTER: Dec. 23

Carl Neal, 22, of Somerville, was charged with careless driving after the car he was driving struck the rear of a car driven by Natalie Jaworski, 40, of Hillsborough Township on county Route 533 at 2:32 p.m. Dec. 18. He told police that the car in front of him began to slow down and he attempted to stop, but his car slid on the wet roadway and some leaves. A passenger in Ms. Jaworksi’s car complained of pain and was taken to the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro by the Montgomery Township EMS. Mr. Neal is scheduled to appear in Montgomery Township Municipal Court.
County Route 518 near Cherry Hill Road was closed for about an hour, starting at 2:17 p.m. Dec. 18, after a tree branch fell and caused a power line and guard wire to fall, blocking the eastbound lane. PSE&G responded and removed the wire.
Julie Vegliante, 23, of Killingworth, Connecticut, was charged with careless driving after her car struck the rear of a car driven by Jenna Simon, 29, of Skillman at 10:49 a.m. Dec. 18. Ms. Vegliante told police that her foot slipped off the brake pedal, causing her car to strike the rear of the car in front of her. She is scheduled to appear in Montgomery Township Municipal Court.
Andrzej Migdal, 48, of Hillsborough Township, was charged with improper passing following a two-car collision on county Route 601 at Sunset Road at 6:43 a.m. Dec. 18. Mr. Migdal was driving south on Route 601 and came up to a car also traveling south, driven by Terry Crutcher, 53, of Wyandotte, Michigan, which had its hazard lights on. When Mr. Migdal attempted to pass Mr. Crutcher’s car on the left, Mr. Crutcher began to make a left turn onto Sunset Road. The two vehicles collided, and Mr. Migdal’s vehicle continued south and left the road and hit a wooden fence before coming to rest. Mr. Migdal is scheduled to appear in Montgomery Township Municipal Court.
Anthony Lopresti, 18, of Belle Mead, was charged with driving while intoxicated, underage driving while intoxicated, failure to stop for a stop sign, illegal use of a hand-held cellphone, careless driving and failure to produce a driver’s license after the car he was driving left the roadway on Belle Mead-Griggstown Road and struck a tree at 5:26 a.m. Dec. 14. He told police that he was turning off Red Oak Way and was on his hand-held cellphone. He said he did not see the stop sign and drove across Belle Mead-Griggstown Road. He was released to a responsible party and is scheduled to appear in Montgomery Township Municipal Court.
Terrence McPeters, 36, of Trenton, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for $156 from East Windsor Township after police stopped a Ford pickup truck, in which he was a passenger, at 11:45 p.m. Dec. 13. Police were responding to a call for a burglary in progress and saw the pickup truck leaving the area. The burglary in progress call was later determined to be unfounded. Mr. McPeters was released after posting bail.
Liana Johnson, 26, of Fallsington, Pennsylvania, was charged with careless driving and Kasheema Johnson, 31, of North Brunswick Township was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license after their cars collided in the parking lot at 263 Wall St. at 5:51 p.m. Dec. 6. Kasheema Johnson was driving a car east in the parking lot when her car was struck by another car driven by Liana Johnson, which was traveling south in the parking lot through the parking lot stalls. Kasheema Johnson’s car left the parking lot and struck a tree. Kasheema Johnson and two passengers in her car complained of pain, and Ms. Johnson and one of her passengers were taken to Robert Wood Johnson Somerset Hospital by Montgomery Township EMS. Both drivers are scheduled to appear in Montgomery Township Municipal Court.
Tyshon Murdock, 22, of Hillsborough Township, was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, plus a local summons for being in a park after hours, when police discovered a suspicious vehicle parked in the Mill Pond Park parking lot at 4:35 a.m. Nov. 29. The park is closed between dusk and dawn. Mr. Murdock told police he had stopped in the park prior to going to work. Police detected an odor of marijuana coming from the car and saw evidence of marijuana use inside the car. Mr. Murdock was released and is scheduled to appear in Montgomery Township Municipal Court.
