The Friends of the Hickory Corner Library Bag Sale begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Hickory Corner Branch, Mercer County Library System, 138 Hickory Corner Road, East Windsor, N.J. All books in the book sale are now $5 per bag. Proceeds are used to purchase materials for the library and provide special programs for adults and children, including the Summer Reading Program.
The Marching Falcons of Monroe Township High School will be ambassadors for the State of New Jersey and the veterans of the USS New Jersey in the 75th Anniversary Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade in Hawaii. The community is invited to a send-off event scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Monroe Township High School PAC at 200 Schoolhouse Road in Monroe Township. The Monroe Township Music Parents Association is organizing the event. The marching band and color guard were chosen by the Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade Committee for this honor and will travel to Hawaii to be at the parade on Dec.7. Monroe Township Mayor Gerald Tamburro and various school/government officials will speak at the send-off event. Guests at the event will include the VFW and American Legion Post 522, and also a veteran from the USS New Jersey.
