Hightstown resident Sarah Kluxen was presented with the “Outstanding Citizen Award” by the borough of Hightstown at its Jan. 1 reorganization meeting., The award was presented to Ms. Kluxen in recognition of here outstanding work and commitment to the borough, the Hightstown Borough Board of Health and for her dedication to promoting literacy in Mercer County., Ms. Kluxen has resided in Hightstown for 33 years and over that period of time she has served as a volunteer in the borough in many areas, most recently serving on the Board of Health., Hightstown Mayor Larry Quattrone said he believes that “volunteers need to be recognized for their dedication, time and sharing of talents through volunteerism.”, “Our community would not be what it is today, a great place to live, work and play, without the volunteers who continue to work diligently and serve on the various boards and committees of the borough. Volunteers are the backbone of Hightstown borough,” said the mayor.
