WEST WINDSOR: Two injured in four-car crash that shuts down Route 1 for five hours

The southbound lanes of Route 1 and two northbound lanes on Route 1 were closed for about five hours after a four-car collision on Route 1 near Carnegie Center Boulevard at 10:23 p.m. Jan. 25, according to the West Windsor Township Police Department., The accident occurred when a 1994 Toyota 4Runner sport utility vehicle, which was traveling north on Route 1, sideswiped a 2012 Ford Escape sport utility vehicle and a 2010 Honda CR-V sport utility vehicle in the area of Carnegie Center Boulevard, police said., The Toyota 4 Runner crossed the northbound lanes through the divider to the southbound lanes of Route 1, where it struck a 2005 Honda Accord that was traveling south on Route 1., The drivers of the Toyota 4Runner and the Honda Accord were taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center at Fuld for treatment of their injuries. The drivers of the Ford Escape and the Honda CR-V were not injured. The identities of the drivers are being withheld, pending further investigation., The incident is under investigation by Patrolman Kyle Brown of the West Windsor Township Police Department’s Traffic Bureau and the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office’s Serious Collision Response Team., Witnesses to the accident are asked to call Traffic Sgt.
