Lauren Satos, a resident of Edison, and daughter of Dean and Janet Satos, was named to the dean’s list at Fairfield University.
Satos is a nursing major and a theater minor and sings in the glee club. She is a graduate of J.P. Stevens High School in Edison.

Rowan University, Glassboro, has announced the following local students named to the dean’s list for the fall semester:
Heather J. Jordan of Edison, an elementary education major; and
Brian M. Bordiere, a communication major; Stephanie Carniglia, a health and exercise science major; Jenna L. Stein, an elementary education major; Lindsay A. Thiel, a law/justice major; and Laura M. Walton, a communication major; all of Metuchen.
Syracuse (N.Y.) University announced the following Edison students were named to the dean’s list for the fall semester:
Michael Fomuke, a junior majoring in information management and technology at the School of Information Studies; and
Annabel Lee, a senior majoring in interior design at the College of Visual and Performing Arts.
Students from John P. Stevens High School, Edison, recently competed in the sixth annual Rutgers Academic Challenge and will advance to the semifinals. The Challenge is New Jersey’s interscholastic competition, which consists of eight-member teams of high school students who compete in activities based on the state’s core curriculum content standards for social studies, language arts, math and science. Top prizes for the championship include the President’s Cup and a $1,000 cash award for the high school, plus $1,000 and a gold medallion for each student on the winning team. Second- and third-place winners also receive commemorative and cash awards.
