Water main breaks on Meadow Road; 3 businesses affected
EDISON — A water main break left a number of residents with low pressure Sunday.
The break occurred on Meadow Road between Clifton Street and Executive Avenue, and crews were on site from roughly 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. said Maureen Duffy, a spokeswoman for the Elizabethtown Water Co., which serves the area.
Three businesses were primarily affected.
Residents did have water, Duffy said, although "they might have experienced low pressure."
As a precaution, Elizabethtown did leave cases of bottled water on the corner of Clifton Street and Meadow Road, Duffy said.
At about 2 a.m. Monday morning, Duffy said one of the clamps crews had placed on the water and the main came loose, and workers were sent out again to repair the line.
That work was completed at approximately 10 a.m. she said.
