To the editor:
I am Krishna Kusupudi. I live in Pennington and work at Bristol Myers Squibb. In the past, I have volunteered at PFAS (Pennington First Aid Squad) as an EMT. I’ve known Adam Sawicki for a long time and our kids are growing up together. He is a nice dad and he always comes to all of his kids’ games. Along with my wife, we’ve come to know Adam’s family very well. He is always very friendly and positive with the other parents. So many good things have happened at the school district since he joined the school board, like:
- Increasing access to AP and Honors classes at Central High School and Timberlane MS by establishing consistent eligibility criteria,
- Developing programs to improve services while keeping special education students in-district,
- Establishing STEM and Performing Arts magnet academies,
- Developing a homework policy to balance academics and co-curriculars,
- Expanding Kindergarten to a full-day program,
- Implementing a 1:1 learning environment while reducing overall district technology costs,
- Increasing extra-curricular opportunities through the addition of new athletic teams and clubs,
- Minimizing annual budget increases and ensuring that funds provided by district taxpayers are used wisely and effectively.
I believe he can make valuable contributions to the school district’s current initiatives, like improving our appeal process, grading, report cards, and cultural education. I also believe he will also keep a watchful eye on the ongoing referendum projects.
My family and I would be very happy to fully support his re-election to the Hopewell Valley Regional School District Board of Education.
