Helen Mary Greener Helen M. Greener, 83, of Pennington, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 27, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Trenton, NJ, wife of the late Andrew Greener, daughter of the late Casper and Catherine Abfall Schumacher, sister of the late John and Frank Schumacher, Helen was a lifelong area resident. Helen graduated from Trenton High School in 1950. After graduation, Helen worked for the NJ Division of Pensions and Benefits and for The Lawrenceville School. Once her youngest child entered kindergarten, Helen attended Trenton State College, earning her bachelor’s degree in 1972. She began her teaching career in the Ewing Township Public School District, where she taught for 20 years. Helen was also a longstanding member of St. James Church in Pennington. Helen is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Colleen and Kurt Pedersen, two sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Marguerite Greener and Kevin and Kit Greener, all of Pennington. Helen’s greatest joy was her 7 grandchildren: Kelsey, Ryan and Morgan Pedersen, Sean and Courtney Greener, and Katie and Trent Greener. Helen is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Lorraine and Leonard Deworocki, two sisters-in-law, Joyce and Helen Schumacher, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to acknowledge Rita Amaro and her assistants for their dedication and care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 4th at St. James Church, 115 East Delaware Avenue, Pennington. Interment will follow at Harbourton Cemetery in Lambertville. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, January 3rd from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Wilson-Apple Funeral Home, 2560 Pennington Road, Pennington.
