Ruth Springman Cook, eighty-four, died Thursday August 18, 2016 at Lourdes Specialty Hospital. Born in Williamsport, Pa., she resided in Lawrence Twp., NJ since 1968.
Ruth graduated from Montoursville High School, Pa., attended Penn State University and graduated from Edison State College. She was a retiree of Princeton University, and previously had been with Educational Testing Service, Princeton, NJ. During her retirement, she served as a substitute teacher.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville, NJ where she had served as a deacon, and had volunteered for several organizations including the Drumthwacket Foundation, Friends of the Lawrence Library, and St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center.
Ruth is survived by her significant other, George Farlekas; longtime friend, Victor Grenda; son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Karen; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Karen; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Beth and Robert Bouffard; brother, Robert Springman; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and several nieces.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday August 27 at the Presbyterian Church of Lawrenceville, with Rev. Matt Pigman officiating.
