Victor Joseph Capo, 91, of Monroe Township and Brigantine, New Jersey, died peacefully at his home on September 22, 2017.
Son of Rose and Joseph Capo, he was born on September 12, 1926 in Washington, PA, the youngest of eight siblings. He was raised in Irvington, New Jersey and attended Boys Vocational and Technical High School where he met the love of his life.
He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps who served during World War II as Private First Class, specializing in engines and rotary wing aircraft.
He worked for the greater part of his career at Public Service Electric & Gas Co. in Springfield, NJ starting as a gas meter repairman, and rising to the position of foreman and plant manager.
Victor was predeceased by his sisters Angela Sportell, Louise Matta, Josephine Jacone and Marie Lelli and brothers Frank, Anthony, and Ernest Capo.
Beloved husband of the late Adeline Lena (Dotolo) Capo, he is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Ann (Capo) DiChiara and her husband, Robert A. DiChiara, Jr. and their son, Victor’s cherished grandson, Anthony Victor DiChiara, all of San Diego, CA; along with two sons, Joseph N. Capo of Monroe Township, NJ, and Victor J. Capo, Jr. of Andover Township, NJ and many cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and friends.
Victor was known for his unselfish nature, honesty, hard work, integrity and dedication to his family. He loved to be with family and had a special place in his heart for children. He always had a kind word for everyone he met. His pleasures were simple and he was well-liked and respected by everyone who met him. He took pride in maintaining his home and enjoyed creating unique solutions to mechanical problems.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017 at 10:45am at St. Teresa of Avila Church in Summit. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park, in East Hanover. There will be a visitation on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the Bradley-Brough & Dangler Funeral Home, 299 Morris Avenue, in Summit, NJ from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.
