Cynthia Darvin Vega

On Thursday, August 24, 2017, our beloved Cynthia Darvin Vega, passed away peacefully at home in New Jersey surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband, Joaquin Vega; children, Liam and Valentina; her parents, Alvin (Bud) and Barbara Darvin of Belle Mead, NJ, and her two brothers, Craig and Scott Darvin.
Cyndi touched many lives as an educator for 25 years, mentor, and friend.   Her students in NYC tell stories of how she went above and beyond the boundaries of the classroom to help and support them and make a real difference in their lives. Her colleagues at various schools speak of her leadership and how it resulted in more effective teachers and better prepared students.  Her friends remember Cynthia’s fierce commitment to having a true presence in this world, to always being there for everyone and more than anything, to loving and being with her family. Joaquin, her husband, was her best friend and greatest love.  Her son, Liam, and her daughter, Valentina, were her greatest joys in life.
A celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, October 28th at 11:00 a.m. at the Princeton Theological Seminary in The Miller chapel.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Cromwell-Immordino Memorial Home, 2560 Pennington Rd., Pennington, NJ 08534.
