EDISON – Amazon spread holiday joy donating $15,000 of in-kind gifts to Triple C Housing and volunteered their time at a special holiday event at the Veteran of Foreign Wars Memorial Post 3117, according to a release.
Rainy Shukla, general manager of Amazon in Edison, was joined by local Amazon volunteers who wrapped holiday gifts, wrote greeting cards and celebrated the season with local families transitioning to permanent housing during the holiday event on Dec. 19.
Triple C Housing is a grassroots organization that has helped make the dream of living independently with dignity become a reality for those they serve in the surrounding community. The donated items ranged from household essentials to children’s toys and will be donated to more than 30 families Triple C serves, the release said.
“Amazon is honored to be a part of the Edison community and to give back to those in need this holiday season,” Shukla said. “Triple C Housing is an important part of our community both locally and statewide, and with nearly 18,000 Amazonians living and working across New Jersey, we’re proud to acknowledge their contributions to bettering the lives of veterans and families in need this holiday season and year-round.”
Mayor Thomas Lankey joined in on he fun and provided remarks on the impact of Amazon’s donation.
“Amazon demonstrates, once again, what it means to truly be a good neighbor, generously making the holiday season brighter for our local veterans and needy families,” he said. “Amazon’s continuing contributions to our town are making a very tangible difference in the lives of the people they touch.”
