Rabbi Dr. Robert E. Fierstien, adjunct professor of Jewish Studies at Richard Stockton College, Galloway, will present a free lecture on “The Jews of the Civil War” at 1 p.m. Nov. 20 at the Jewish Heritage Museum of Monmouth County, 310 Mounts Corner Drive, Freehold Township.
Approximately 10,000 Jews served in the American Civil War and more than 400 of the Jewish soldiers were from New Jersey.
The lecturewill be followed at 2:30 p.m. by “Songs of the Civil War and More,” a paid concert presented by David Brahinsky and His String Band.” Fee is $15 for museum members and $18 for nonmembers. Light refreshments will be served preceding the concert at 2:15 p.m.
