Hillsborough Township municipal officials recognized the leading responders in the area’s fire companies at a recent meeting.
At the Jan. 28 meeting, the Hillsborough Township Committee recognized the top 10 responders last year for each fire company for their outstanding service. Officials said the top responders serve as examples of the “Highest Standards of the Hillsborough Township Fire Companies through their heroism and willingness to help others.”
“The Hillsborough Township Committee recognizes each fire company for their outstanding service and extends its sincere congratulations and appreciation for their continued heroism, commitment to the residents of Hillsborough, and for being shining members of our community,” Hillsborough Township Mayor Doug Tomson said.
The committee, along with the Board of Fire Commissioners, recognized the following top 10 responders from each fire company:
Top 10 Responders of Fire Company No. 1, Flagtown: Matthew DeCicco; Gregory Kane; Joseph Shreve; Karl Scott; Tyler Riordan; William Riordan; Thomas Lachowski; Michael Guzy; Jeffrey Singer; and Eric Regiec.
Top 10 Responders of Fire Company No. 2, Route 206: William Shaffer; Thomas Shaffer; James Paterno; Robert Gildea II; Dana Leehr; Kevin Danberry; Ryan Crater; Carl Rawles; Isabella Calabrese; and Daniel Edwards.
Top 10 Responders of Fire Company No. 3, Woods Road: Kenneth Wetzel; Manfred Nowacki; Richard Artz; Michael Murphy; Timothy Coyle; Kenneth Johnson; Charles Nuara; Robert Hodossy; Thomas Perlitz; and Brendan Harding.
Following the recognition ceremony from the committee, one of the fire commissioners, Charles Nuara, spoke on behalf of the responders and their significance to the township.
“I want to thank all of the fire departments as top 10 responders,” Nuara said. “They all work very hard making these calls, and it’s tough to cover a town as big as [Hillsborough], but I have to thank all of them.”
