February is Heart Health Month.
To help the community understand cardiac health, ProFysio Physical Therapy will present “Your Heart Is A Muscle – Exercise It!” at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 19 at the library, 2 Jean Walling Civic Center, East Brunswick.
The program is led by clinic director Dr. Nichole Chaviano, PT, DPT, ITPT. She will discuss several topics, including the risks, signs and symptoms of heart disease; the difference between healthy and risky behaviors; the importance of exercise and heart health; and how physical therapy can help.
Dr. Chaviano earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology and Strength and Conditioning from the University of Delaware. She obtained her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Rutgers University. She is experienced in a variety of orthopedic conditions with manual therapy techniques and therapeutic exercise.
This program is free and open to the public. It is presented through the library’s Just For The Health of It! consumer health and wellness information initiative.
