EDISON – The wife of a man who tested positive for coronavirus earlier this week also contracted the illness.

On March 11, a 74-year-old male from Edison tested positive, Janelle Fleming of the New Jersey Department of Health had said. He and his wife recently returned from a cruise, according to information provided by the Edison Township Division of Health & Human Services.

The 72-year-old wife also tested positive, according to information released late on March 14 from Andrew Toth, Emergency Management coordinator for Edison.

A 53-year-old male from Edison has also tested positive for novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

“We have been informed that he attended a convention in Boston, Massachusetts, and after returning home was tested and is currently self-quarantined,” Toth said in a statement on March 13.

Toth said state officials will continue to update the township with additional information as it becomes available. He said they will share updates as permitted by law.
