In an abundance of caution to prevent the possible spread of COVID-19, all Freehold Regional High School District schools have closed for two weeks. The closure took effect on March 16. All extracurricular activities, athletic events, educational excursions and community gatherings are suspended until further notice, according to district administrators.
According to a press release, the district will use inclement weather days on March 16, 17 and 18. School will not be in session and students are not required to engage in remote learning.
The district will shift its spring break days to March 19, 20, 23, 24 and 25. School will not be in session and students are not required to engage in remote learning.
District administrators said they have decided on this schedule in an effort to minimize academic disruption for students.
Remote learning will be implemented on March 26. In accordance with the New Jersey Department of Education, remote learning days will count toward the 180-day requirement for a full school year, according to the press release.
District administrators said students and families are strongly encouraged to review the FRHSD Remote Learning Plan. Student assignments will be posted in each teacher’s Google Classroom. Students should check their Google Classrooms each day of remote learning and complete and submit assignments as outlined.
FRHSD administrators said they would continue to monitor the situation as it evolves in consultation with the New Jersey Department of Health and the New Jersey Department of Education. All updates will be communicated via www.frhsd.com, social media, emails and/or robocalls.
