MONROE – There are now seven positive cases of coronavirus in Monroe, including four reported on March 20, according to new information provided on March 21.
There are 442 new COVID-19 cases in New Jersey, up to a total of 1,327, as of 5 p.m. on March 21.
Middlesex County reported 40 new cases for a total of 116 positive cases, the second largest total in the state, according to the statement.
“On behalf of the Monroe community, I would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and medical workers, all the grocery store employees, pharmacy employees, truck drivers, and all of the essential employees working to get us through this crisis,” Mayor Gerald Tamburro said in the statement. “Special thanks to our first responders as well. This fight is long from over, but these are our community heroes and we all grateful for their dedication and sacrifice each day.”
There is a COVID-19 drive through testing site at MyInstaDoc, 298 Applegarth Road, Monroe. Patients must have COVID-19 symptoms, including fever, or have been exposed to an infected person.
Testing is available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. Pre-registration is required; there is limited availability and those without appointments must wait in line.
