EAST BRUNSWICK–Chief of Police Frank LoSacco announced the launch of the East Brunswick Police Department’s new online reporting platform.
The public will be able to report minor incidents and crimes through the use of an electronic online reporting system on the East Brunswick Police Department website. All residents have to do is click on Online Reporting, according to a prepared statement from the department.
Citizens, customers or any victim of a crime that occurred within the township can file police reports online. After completing the necessary information, print the report for your records.
The types of incidents that can be reported online include:
- Credit Card Theft
- Criminal Mischief
- Custody Disputes
- Cyber Harassment
- Minor Civil Disputes (for documentation)
- Follow-up Reports
- Fraud/Embezzlement/Bad checks
- Harassment
- Identity Theft
- Lost Property
- Property Damage
- Reports for Insurance Purposes
- Shoplifting, under $1000
- Simple Assault, not domestic violence
- Theft, under $1000
If the incident to report is an emergency, a crime in progress, involves any type of injury, involves the loss/theft of prescription medication, narcotics or otherwise, the report cannot be reported online, according to police. In these cases, call East Brunswick police. In an emergency, immediately dial 9-1-1.
Filing a false police report is a crime. Fourth-degree crimes are punishable by a fine of not more than $1,000, or by imprisonment for not more than 18 months, or both, according to police.
