Bear sightings temporarily shut down the Middlesex County Greenway in Metuchen

METUCHEN – Sightings of what appear to be a mama bear and her cub early this morning on the Middlesex County Greenway has caused park rangers to temporarily shut down the paved trail, according to Police Lt. Arthur Flaherty.

Police put out a Nixle alert at 7:56 a.m. on July 6 of the sightings urging the public not to approach or interact with the bears.
