The New Jersey Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) will present “Community Mental Health 101” from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. July 20.
The webinar will provide affiliates of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), Intensive Family Support Services (IFSS) providers and family members an overview of the public, community mental health system in New Jersey.
Attendees will also be given an update on how DMHAS has been responding to the challenges of COVID-19.
In addition, speakers will talk about FEMA and SAMHSA grants.

Then, from 7-8:15 p.m., NAMI In Our Own Voice is a program for community education and reducing stigma, as trained volunteers share their lived experience of mental health recovery: What Happened, What Helps, and What’s Next.
- To achieve an understanding of how nutrients in food affect the brain
- To identify healthier food choices that can be made when grocery shopping
- To understand the biological processes by which the body utilizes nutrients
- To identify foods that provide beneficial nutrients for neurological and psychological health
