There were elections for seats on the Boards of Education (BOE) in Edison, Metuchen and Woodbridge on Nov. 3.
The results listed here reflect what has been posted online by the Middlesex County Clerk’s Office at this time. The results are not final and it is not known when the results will be final.
The results of the election will remain unofficial until they are certified.
Edison – Three, three-year terms are available on the BOE. Thirteen candidates are vying for the three seats. The candidates are incumbent Jing Wei “Jerry” Shi; and newcomers Brett Baker, Padmaja Chinta, Anthony DePasquale, Ernest Kregeloh, Christo Makropoulos, Yash Pandya, Mohin K. Patel, Sparshil Patel, Clifton Prescod, Brian Rivera, Maria Wise and Virginia R. White.
Shi, Patel and White are running on the Edison First slate and Kregeloh is running on the Improving Education Together slate.
As of Nov. 8, Mohin K. Patel with 11,152 votes, White with 10,629 votes and Shi with 10,165 votes are leading in the race.
DePasquale has 7,668 votes, Pandya has 7,651 votes, Wise has 7,202 votes, Chinta has 7,161 votes, Baker has 3,887 votes, Prescod has 3,089 votes, Makropoulos has 3,039 votes, Kregeloh has 2,313 votes and Rivera has 1,562 votes. There are 124 write-in votes.
Metuchen – Three, three-year terms are available on the BOE. The race is uncontested. The candidates are incumbents Brian D. Glassberg and Dan Benderly; and newcomer Hazel-Anne M. Johnson-Marcus.
Glassberg and Johnson-Marcus are running on the slate Equity and Action.
As of Nov. 8, Johnson-Marcus has 4,280 votes, Glassberg has 4,170 votes and Benderly has 3,662 votes. There are 54 write-in votes.
Woodbridge – Three, three-year terms are available on the BOE. The race is uncontested. The candidates are incumbents Marie Anderson, Brian Molnar and Frank Della Pietro III.
As of Nov. 8, Anderson has 23,054 votes, Molnar has 22,482 votes, and Della Pietro III has 20,933 votes. There are 641 write-in votes.
