NORTH BRUNSWICK — The township has welcomed two new police officers.
Sean N. Egan and Anthony Torres were administered the oath of office during the July 6 council meeting.
Egan, 30, worked as an investigator for the State of New Jersey’s Office of the Attorney General after earning his bachelor’s degree from Rider University.
Torres, 26, graduated from the Monmouth County Police Academy and worked as a sheriff’s officer for Middlesex County. He had earned an associate’s degree in criminal justice from Middlesex County College and is currently attending Rutgers University to pursue his bachelor’s degree.
“The mayor and council are aware of the needs of our community in terms of public safety, an increasing population and greater demands in services,” said Police Director Kenneth McCormick, who noted that the hires were to replace officers who are retiring.
