Julie Troutman will become Hopewell Township’s new chief financial officer (CFO) with her recent promotion approved by the Hopewell Township Committee.
Mayor Kristin McLaughlin, Deputy Mayor Michael Ruger, Township Committeeman Kevin Kuchinski, Township Committeewoman Julie Blake and Township Committeewoman Courtney Peters-Manning made her promotion official after an unanimous vote approving a resolution promoting Troutman during a township meeting on Dec. 21.
Troutman will maintain her role as treasurer, when her promotion from assistant CFO to CFO goes into effect on Jan. 1. She takes over the role of CFO that was held by township Administrator Elaine Cruickshank-Borges, who is retiring.
The township committee continues its search for a new township administrator to succeed Borges, who has served in the township Finance Department and Administration for 25 years.
McLaughlin said Troutman’s promotion does not change the township’s need for an administrator.
Officials are hoping to hire someone by Borges’s effective date of retirement, with the job having been posted and then closed by Dec. 4. If the township is unable to hire a new administrator by Jan. 1, township personnel will have to step up and fill roles, according to officials.
