Grab a sub at Jersey Mike’s and help Make-A-Wish throughout March

MONROE – Throughout March, customers of Jersey Mike’s Subs can grab a sub and help grant wishes through Make-A-Wish New Jersey to children with critical illnesses in local communities throughout the state.

Make-A-Wish New Jersey is joining forces with more than 90 Jersey Mike’s Subs throughout the state for the 11th annual March “Month of Giving” campaign to fund local charities, according to a release.

This is the fifth year of the sub shop’s partnership with Make-A-Wish New Jersey. Since their partnership began in 2017, Jersey Mike’s Subs has raised over $1.1 million for Make-A-Wish New Jersey, helping to grant over 150 wishes to children with critical illnesses in local communities throughout the state, according to the release.

Donations can also be made through Jersey Mike’s mobile app.

The campaign will culminate with Jersey Mike’s Day of Giving on March 31, when the Jersey Mike’s locations will give 100% of the day’s sales – not just profit – to their partner charities. Whether customers order a sub, a catered meal or even a bag of chips, Jersey Mike’s will donate every single dollar from sales via the Jersey Mike’s app, online or in store to Make-A-Wish New Jersey, according to the release.

On the Day of Giving, Jersey Mike’s is offering free delivery through the Jersey Mike’s app.

“As we celebrate five years of granting wishes in partnership with Jersey Mike’s Subs, we are humbled to think about the lives that have been changed thanks to their financial support,” Tom Weatherall, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Make-A-Wish New Jersey, said in the release. “This year has been unprecedented because of the pandemic and has been a struggle for us as it has been for everyone. But Jersey Mike’s Subs has not stepped aside. They have instead found new and innovative ways to continue their support and create multiple opportunities for the community to support Make-A-Wish New Jersey and the March Month of Giving, with health and safety at the top of mind. We are honored by their continued commitment and proud to once again be a part of their March Month of Giving.”

Despite the global pandemic, lifechanging wishes continue to be granted daily in New Jersey, across the country and around the world, from backyard pools and play sets to gaming computers, from puppies to basement movie rooms, from MacBook pros to wave runners, campers, and local destinations like the Jersey Shore or a camping trip in Pennsylvania, according to the statement.

“This March, we celebrate our Month of Giving with a renewed sense of determination to do all we can to raise as much as we can for important local causes,” Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike’s founder and CEO, said in the release. “I invite you to come in this month and make a difference in someone’s life.”

Jersey Mike’s has raised more than $32 million for local charities since Month of Giving began in 2011. This year, local Jersey Mike’s owners and operators throughout the country are supporting more than 200 different charities, according to the release.

Make-A-Wish New Jersey has granted more than 11,000 wishes since its inception in 1983. The generous support of corporations like Jersey Mike’s Subs is critical to the organization’s continued success, according to the release.
