Academy Award-, Emmy- and Golden Globe-winner Kate Winslet stars in HBO’s new series, Mare of Easttown, debuting Sunday, April 18, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The seven-part limited series revolves around a small-town Pennsylvania detective (Winslet) who investigates a local murder as life crumbles around her. The series is an exploration into the dark side of a close community and an authentic examination of how family and past tragedies can define our present. The series also stars Julianne Nicholson, three-time Emmy-winner Jean Smart, Angourie Rice, Evan Peters, Emmy-winner and Golden Globe- nominee Guy Pearce, Cailee Spaeny, David Denman, John Douglas Thompson, Patrick Murney, James McArdle, Sosie Bacon, Joe Tippett and Neal Huff.
Freeform’s highly anticipated psychological mystery, Cruel Summer, will premiere with a two-hour event on Tuesday, April 20, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. This series is a thriller that follows two young women: Kate Wallis, the popular girl with a charmed life who one day goes missing, and Jeanette Turner, the nerdy wannabe who is accused of being connected to Kate’s disappearance. All signs point to Jeanette’s guilt, but is Kate really who she seems to be? Set over three summers and told through shifting points of view, the series challenges perception and follows how one girl can go from being a sweet outlier to the most despised person in America. The series stars Olivia Holt, Chiara Aurelia, Michael Landes, Froy Gutierrez, Harley Quinn Smith, Allius Barnes, Blake Lee and Brooklyn Sudano. After the series premiere, new episodes will air Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
The Secrets She Keeps moves to AMC on Monday, April 19, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. Following its successful premiere on Sundance Now last year and based on the bestselling novel by Michael Robotham, this series tells the story of two women who have a chance encounter in a supermarket in an affluent Sydney suburb. They are the same age, both heavily pregnant and due at the same time. Meghan (Jessica De Gouw) is a glamorous online influencer on the rise. Agatha (Laura Carmichael) works in the supermarket as a shelf stacker. Although they live near each other, the two women’s lives could not be more different. Both women have secrets, and both will risk everything to conceal the truth, but their worlds are about to collide in one shocking act that cannot be undone.
