She was the only child of Elizabeth Cass Strong and Theodore Benton Counselman, Jr, born on September 23, 1954 in New Haven CT.
Libbie was very proud of her heritage as her ancestors included Paul Revere on her father’s side and Roger Williams on her mother’s.
Libbie graduated from Hobart and William Smith College in 1976 with a BS in Music and Psychology. She later got an MBA from UNC-Chapel Hill and attended UConn Law school for a semester. Her career began as a consultant for Anistics, an insurance consulting rm and
she then went on to become part of the Computer Support Team at Princeton University and later Application Support and Training for Rider University.
Her father passed away in 1969 when she was 15. Libbie and her mother were very close and loved to travel. Some of their adventures included Alaska, Panama Canal, Australia, New Zealand and The Baltic. As an adult, Libbie spent time searching for the spiritual path that would strike just the right chord. In 2000 she joined the Quaker Meeting and it became a signifcant part of her life.
Libbie is survived by her Uncle William Strong and Aunt Beverly, along with many loving cousins on both sides of her family and her many, many caring friends.
Gifts in her memory should be made to the Princeton Friends Meeting, where a memorial service will be held in September.
