Due to the water line construction work in the Monmouth Junction area of South Brunswick, some residents and businesses in the Dayton and Monmouth Junction section of the township are experiencing discolored water.
The South Brunswick Township Water Department is flushing hydrants in and around the neighborhoods impacted to minimize the impact, according to information provided by South Brunswick Township around 1:15 p.m. Aug. 16.
The discolored water has increased iron in it and will clear up with the flushing of the hydrants.
The water department will be out flushing hydrants until 9 p.m., according to the statement.
Residents can open up a cold water faucet in their home and let it run for five minutes and the water should clear up, according to the statement.
