A building at Allied Oil Company in Hillsborough suffered minor damage after a vehicle inside caught fire.
The Hillsborough Township Police Department responded to Old Camplain Road for a smoke condition around 7:11 p.m. Aug. 19.
Upon arrival, the responding officer observed a large amount of smoke billowing out from the roof, according to information provided by the police department.
Once the responding fire departments arrived on scene, it was determined that a vehicle was on fire inside the building.
The fire was brought under control and the smoke was vented out of the building.
The vehicle suffered significant damage and the building suffered minor damage.
The fire was investigated by the Hillsborough Township Police Department and the Hillsborough Township Fire Safety Bureau. The fire was not believed to be suspicious in nature at this time; however, the investigation is continuing, according to the statement.
The building was condemned by the Hillsborough Building Department until further notice.

In addition, the following fire departments responded to the scene: Hillsborough Fire Stations 37 and 38, Flagtown Fire 36, Millstone Valley Fire Department, Elizabeth Avenue Fire Department, Somerville Fire Department, Manville Fire Department, Raritan Borough Fire Department, Finderne Fire Department, Neshanic Station Fire Department, Somerset Fire & Rescue, Robert Wood Johnson EMS, Bradley Gardens EMS, and Somerset County Fire & EMS coordinators.
Standby departments were Bradley Gardens Fire Department, Bound Brook Fire Department, and Montgomery Fire Department No. 1.
