The Educational Services Commission of New Jersey (ESCNJ) announced the appointment of Acting Superintendent of North Brunswick Township Schools Janet Ciarrocca to its Board of Directors.
Ciarrocca’s background includes curriculum development, technology, advocacy, fundraising and grant/programming, according to the statement.
Ciarrocca began her career as an elementary school teacher and later a library media specialist. She has been with the North Brunswick Township School District since 2013, serving as Livingston Park Elementary School principal and then Director of Curriculum for Instruction and Technology before being promoted to acting superintendent as of July 1.
As one of the newest board members, Ciarrocca said she looks forward to working collaboratively with the other board members to enhance services already in place which will further help support the students with disabilities, according to the statement.
“I welcome the opportunity to work with my fellow colleagues in an effort to provide innovative services, and financial savings which will further promote the existing programs that ESCNJ has in place,” Ciarrocca said in the statement.
Ciarrocca holds a bachelor’s degree from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College and a master’s degree from Seton Hall University in Elementary Education and Kean University in Educational Media, as well as several professional associations and certifications.
“Janet Ciarrocca’s diversified background and years of experience will provide enormous value and assistance to further enhance the quality of the programs offered at ESCNJ,” ESCNJ Schools Superintendent Mark Finkelstein said in the statement.
