NORTH BRUNSWICK — For her first year on the NBTHS gymnastics team, Alexis Gabel didn’t do so badly.
In fact, Gabel, a senior, set every record at North Brunswick Township High School within six months of joining the squad, according to Athletic Director Lou Emanuel.
She came to the school as a sophomore but only joined the team this year. She placed second in the state at the New Jersey State InterscholasticAthleticAssociation
(NJSIAA) Gymnastics Championships, and was named first-team All State.
“To place second in the state, win sectionals and place All State is quite an accomplishment,” said her coach, Nicole Kastner.
Gabel was presented with a proclamation during the Board of Education meeting Dec. 14.
