Little one arrives in a hurry

NORTH BRUNSWICK — A baby boy is doing well after being delivered inside a motor vehicle.

Township public safety telecommunicator Joanne Testa received a first aid call from a husband who had pulled off into a parking lot on Route 1 and Adams Lane in North Brunswick around 7:20 a.m. Nov. 7. The man stated his wife was having a baby in the car and that the head was coming out, according to police Lt. Roger Reinson.

The baby was born prior to any emergency service personnel arriving, but Testa remained on the line throughout the process. The mother was then transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
