The Monmouth County Health Department has launched its new app which will look to provide residents and visitors to Monmouth County with real-time news and information about services available through the county health department.

“The Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners is incredibly excited to announce the creation of the Monmouth County Department of Health app which is available for Apple and Android devices,” Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone was quoted as saying in a press release.

“Monmouth County continues to be at the forefront of government resources and services available to the public and this app will allow the county health department to engage people in a new way,” Arnone said.

“I would like to commend the county health department as they continue to serve our county every single day,” Commissioner Deputy Director Susan M. Kiley said.

“The Monmouth County Health Department app offers a variety of information regarding the services they offer, including health-related clinics and events, emergency preparedness resources and so much more,” Kiley said.

The Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey (VNACJ) Community Health Center has received $204,808 through Round 2 of the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) COVID-19 Telehealth Program.

FCC funding will greatly improve the VNACJ Community Health Center’s telehealth services to provide connected devices, including laptops and tablets, to continue to provide direct patient care while minimizing exposure to COVID-19, according to a press release.

The FCC’s COVID-19 Telehealth Program supports the efforts of healthcare providers to continue serving their patients by providing reimbursement for telecommunications services, information services, and connected devices necessary to enable telehealth during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Round 2 is a $249.95 million federal initiative that builds on the $200 million program established as part of the CARES Act, according to the press release.

The VNACJ Community Health Center offers telehealth appointments via a smartphone or a computer with camera. Telehealth visits are covered by insurance with no co-pay charge, or a flat rate of $20 for uninsured patients. To schedule an appointment, call 732-888-4149.

 

The Monmouth County Park System will host the Creative Arts Center exhibit from Dec. 4 through Dec. 11 in “the Gallery” at the Thompson Park Creative Arts Center, 805 Newman Springs Road, Lincroft. Hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., daily.

This exhibit celebrates the original artwork of the Creative Arts Center’s students and instructors. Many pieces will be available for purchase, according to a press release.

Throughout the year, the Creative Arts Center hosts fine art and craft classes, including drawing, acrylic, oil and watercolor painting, jewelry making, knitting, sewing, basket weaving, photography, hand-building, raku and wheel throwing pottery.
