Kinsley, Shirley Jean, age 94, formerly of Princeton (NJ) and most recently a resident of Naples (FL), passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021. Born in Lincoln, Nebraska, Shirley attended the University of Nebraska. The daughter of Bill and Bess Pscherer, Shirley loved music as a child- she took singing and dance lessons, and played the piano and accordion. She moved to Princeton, NJ in 1968, and sang in two church choirs, at Trinity Episcopal Church and All Saints Church. She was first soprano and played both the organ and piano. She also was a residential real estate broker with Pete Callaway, now Callaway Henderson Sothebys International Realty.
Shirley loved life. She was one of the kindest, most understanding, and loving people ever. Always calm, and there to help, in any circumstance. She was also a three time winner on the “Price is Right” with Bill Cullen and attended Parliament in London in 1980 where she saw the Queen. In 1987 she moved to Naples where she lived the last 25 years of her life, singing as the first soprano, in the choir of Trinity By the Cove Episcopal Church. Even when she retired from the choir, she attended services and was known to play the piano and sing at The Moorings by Grey Oaks.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Tom Kinsley, and her two children, Sheila Shaffer and Bill Ferguson, the children of Shirley and James Ferguson. She also has 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. There will be a private burial, and a celebration of life at Trinity By The Cove Episcopal Church in Naples on Saturday, March 5 at 11 am. If desired, friends may make contributions to the Fisher Center For Alzheimer’s Research Foundation, FDR Station, PO Box 220, New York, NY 10150.
