Cannabusiness (Cannabis Business) Information Session 

Thursday, Jan. 6, 6 p.m.

Learn about the history of the medical marijuana program in New Jersey, the summary of the rules and regulations that were released by the Cannabis Regulatory Commission, and what residents can expect when/with legal adult cannabis use in the State.

 

Apps, Tools, and Tips: Efficiency in 2022

Monday, Jan. 10, 6 p.m.

Join Olga St. Pierre to learn tips on how to work smarter, not harder. From the office to the kitchen, we’ll cover how to can time and reduce stress.

 

 

Benefits of Massage Therapy

Thursday, Jan. 13, 10:30 a.m.

In addition to providing relaxation from daily stress, massage has many benefits beyond the spa. Learn how massage is applied to treat neuromuscular dysfunction; support the immune system; allay anxiety and soothe mood disorders; and other applications. This brief presentation will explain how massage therapy is appropriate for many conditions; how to prepare and what to expect from a massage therapist; and how to maximize the benefits of massage therapy.

Presented by Cynthia Sinicropi-Philibosian, LMBT practicing since 1982.

This program is part of Penn Medicine Princeton Health’s Community Wellness Program.

 

 

The Music of the Civil Rights Movement

Thursday, Jan. 13, 7 p.m.

Take a musical tour of Civil Rights history in America. John Clark, music historian, will cover the historical relevance and back stories of 1950s and 1960s anthems and songs that were popular through the Civil Rights Movement.

 

 

Plant-based Diets Save Hearts and Homes: Small Actions, Big Changes 

Tuesday, Jan. 18, 1 p.m.

The effects of eating more plant-based foods far exceed the well-known nutritional benefits on one’s health. Research shows that eating a more plant-based diet can also lower carbon footprint and global warming. The aim of this session is to discuss why and how to eat more plant-based foods.

 

 

Declutter in 2022: Maximize Your Storage and What to Store Where

Saturday, Jan. 22, 2 p.m.

Join best-selling author and organizing humorist Jamie Novak for this program about what to keep and where to keep it. She’ll share storage tips to maximize the storage space. Then join Jamie for a tiny tidy up, live.

 

 

Avoiding Securities Fraud

Wednesday, Jan. 26, 11 a.m.

Arlene Ferris-Waks, director of Investor Education, NJ Bureau of Securities, Office of NJ Attorney General, provides information to make investors proactive financial consumers. Avoiding Securities Fraud includes an overview of the various types of investment scams and teaches investors to recognize the red flags of investment fraud.

A Q&A period will follow the formal presentation.

Indoor U.S. Citizenship Prep Workshop

Anyone interested in becoming a U.S. citizen or who is already working towards citizenship can stop by on the second Monday of each month for Citizenship Preparation sessions.

Determine if you are eligible to become a U.S. citizen, learn about the Form N-400 and what you will need to apply for Naturalization, and practice for the reading, writing and civics tests you will need to pass during your interview.

A biography about the life and accomplishments of John Lewis, U.S. Congressman and civil rights activist, who fought for justice in America from the 1950s to his death on July 17, 2020.

Indoor Cook Talks: Preparing Dumplings for Chinese New Year

The Year of the Tiger begins on Feb. 1 with the Lunar New Year. In China, tigers symbolize power, energy, courage and personal strength.

Dumpling (Jiǎozi) is a classic lucky food for Lunar New Year. It can be made to look like Chinese silver ingots which signifies prosperity. Cooking dumplings together brings good fortune, family togetherness, and successful teamwork.

Join Reference Librarians Sharon Wang and Donna Wolfe to celebrate the Year of the Tiger as they demonstrate how to make Chinese dumplings from scratch.
