A Belle Mead man received a careless driving summons after he allegedly got distracted and lost control of his vehicle and crashed into two other vehicles on The Great Road/Route 601 June 2. There were no reported injuries.
A 36-year-old New Brunswick man was charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) after he was stopped by police for an alleged motor vehicle violation on Route 518 June 4. He was also charged with improper use of high beams, reckless driving, careless driving, driving without a license, having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and consumption of an alcoholic beverage while driving.

A Belle Mead man suffered injuries to his left shoulder and arm after the 2016 Honda Odyssey minivan that he was driving struck a utility pole and overturned on Dutchtown-Zion Road May 12. The man, whose minivan was resting on its side when police arrived, was extricated from the vehicle by volunteer firefighters from Montgomery Township Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1 and Montgomery Volunteer Fire Co. No. 2. He refused medical care at the scene.
A 72-year-old Somerset man was trapped in his overturned vehicle after it crossed the double yellow line on Route 533/River Road near Dead Tree Run and struck a tree May 13. The impact caused the vehicle to flip onto the driver’s side. He was extricated from the vehicle by volunteer firefighters from Montgomery Township Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1 and Montgomery Township Volunteer Fire Co. No. 2. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries by Montgomery EMS.
