Veterans Music Fest will be held at Marlboro municipal complex on Sept. 10

MARLBORO — The New Jersey State Veterans Chamber of Commerce will host a Veterans Music Fest from noon to 9 p.m. Sept. 10 at the Marlboro municipal complex, 1979 Township Drive, Marlboro.

The festival welcomes residents of all towns to attend and to enjoy an afternoon and evening of music while supporting the community of military veterans.

Jeff Cantor, the founder and CEO of the New Jersey State Veterans Chamber of Commerce, said, “All proceeds raised by the music festival and the accompanying motorcycle ride will go toward supporting the veteran community.

“This includes help with finding employment … and support for the chamber’s cowboy therapy program, which consists of flying veterans who have been affected with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder out to Montana,” he said.

The Veterans Music Fest will be preceded by a police-escorted motorcycle ride. The motorcycle riders will meet at 8 a.m. at 95 N. Main St. (Route 79), Marlboro, and ride 65 miles through Monmouth, Mercer and Burlington counties before arriving back in Marlboro at about 11 a.m. to enjoy the music festival.

Cantor said 3,000 people have attended the event in previous years and he said the chamber is hoping to surpass that turnout this year.

Seven blues and rock bands will perform during the event: ViRAGO; the Incinerators; Gary Wright Roots and Blues; Peter Veteska and Blues Train; Little Jimmy and the Starlites; the Bob DelRosso Band; and the Chuck Lambert Band.

Marlboro Mayor Jonathan Hornik said, “I am proud that Jeff Cantor, a retired U.S. Army colonel and a former Marlboro Township Council president, spearheads this important event in Marlboro each year. This is an important cause for us all to support and I am looking forward to meeting up with Marlboro residents to enjoy some great music and food during the final days of summer.”

The Sept. 10 event will include food trucks, a beer garden and more. To purchase tickets, visit https://www.eventbrite.com/e/veterans-music-fest-tickets-368596340577
