East Windsor Township voters returned incumbent school board members Bertrand Fougnies and Nicole LaRusso and elected newcomer Jagruti Patel to serve on the East Windsor Regional School District Board of Education in the November school board election.
LaRusso was the top vote-getter with 4,674 votes, followed by Patel with 4,481 votes and Fougnies with 4,249 votes. The term is for three years.
The unofficial vote tallies include the ballots cast Nov. 8, plus early voting, vote by mail and provisional ballots, said Mercer County Clerk Paula Sollami Covello. The tally does not include write-in votes.
Sollami Covello said the results will not be official until she has certified them to the Division of Elections within the Department of State, which is expected to occur by Nov. 26.
Seven of the nine seats on the school board are set aside for East Windsor Township residents and two are earmarked for Hightstown Borough residents.
Fougnies served on the school board from 2014-2017. After a break in service, he was elected to the school board in 2020.
LaRusso won election to her second, consecutive term on the school board.
Patel is a newcomer to the school board.
